Craig D. Hedric was elected Judge of the Court of Common Pleas, General Division in November, 2006 and began serving on the bench on January 3, 2007.
Judge Hedric was admitted to the practice of law in November, 1986. He immediately began working as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Butler County, Ohio. In January, 1988, Hedric went into private practice of law in Hamilton, Ohio. Judge Hedric’s practice focused on litigation of both civil and criminal matters. Judge Hedric remained in private practice until January 2001 when he became the Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Butler County, Ohio. Judge Hedric remained in that position until he took the bench in January 2007.
Judge Hedric is certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a specialist in Criminal Law. Additionally, Judge Hedric has been on the faculty and taught for the National District Attorneys Association in Columbia, South Carolina. Hedric is also a judge for the collegiate mock court competitions held annually at Miami University.
Born and raised in Oxford, Ohio, Judge Hedric attended Talawanda High School. Upon graduation in 1979, Hedric went on to Miami University where he graduated in 1983. In 1986, Judge Hedric graduated from the University Of Toledo College Of Law.
Judge Hedric is an avid sports fan, especially Miami University athletics. Additionally, Hedric coaches a U-16 select baseball team in the West Chester area. Judge Hedric’s other hobbies include golf, reading, travel and attending his children’s sporting events. Judge Hedric is a member of the Red-White Club, a booster club for Miami athletics, the West Chester-Liberty Rotary Club, Sigma Chi Fraternity (Alpha Chapter), the Pisgah Youth Organization and the Great Miami Valley YMCA.
