Program Services/Treatment
Once entered into Drug Court, the treatment alternatives are intensive outpatient and residential treatment. During all phases of both intensive outpatient and residential treatment, participants are required to (1) attend all treatment sessions, (2) submit to urine screens, (3) attend outside NA, AA, or comparable meetings, (4) comply with supervision of T.A.S.C. Case Management, and (5) report to the Drug Court Judge twice each month during Phase I and once monthly thereafter.
Noncompliance with the treatment plan can lead to escalating sanctions in furtherance of treatment as determined by the Drug Court team. For example, a participant can expect to spend time in the Butler County Jail, perform community service, be placed on SCRAM or EMHA, or any other sanction as seen appropriate by the Drug Court team.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment
There are two outpatient treatment facilities, one in Hamilton and one in Middletown. Hamilton treatment sessions are in the evening and Middletown treatment sessions are in the morning. Treatment consists of three phases:
· PHASE I: 12 weeks, 3 days each week, 3 hours per day T.A.S.C. will also facilitate a Responsible Living Development Group during the first 6 weeks of this phase
· PHASE II: 12 weeks, 2 days each week, 2 hours per day
· PHASE III: 24 weeks, 1 day each week, 1 hour per day Offenders will receive an additional ½ hour individual counseling session each week in Phase I and Phase II and on an as-needed basis in Phase III. Family counseling is also included in treatment as needed.
Residential Treatment
If the level of care recommended is residential, the offender may receive services at Sojourner Recovery Services or the SOS Hall. These facilities are located in Hamilton. Residents earn weekend passes and other time away from the facilities. There are provisions for women to bring their children. The length of time an offender remains depends on his/her progress. Those successfully completing residential treatment will begin intensive outpatient treatment at a higher level than Phase I.
The level of treatment recommended may require the male offenders be sent to the Community Corrections Center in Lebanon, and female offenders be sent to the Monday Program in Dayton; or both men and women offenders may be sent to the River City Correctional Center in Cincinnati for up to 6 months. The actual time spent in residential treatment depends on the progress of the offender. Credit for time served is given for the time spent at these facilities. Those successfully completing this residential treatment will begin intensive outpatient treatment at a higher level than Phase I.
